Nancy Pelosi: “Every month 500 million Americans lose their jobs.”

House Majority Leader, Democratic Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, demagogued in a press conference today what she believes will happen without President Obama’s “stimulus package” being passed before Presidents Day, February 16th:
I really think that if we do not have an economic recovery package, every month 500 million Americans lose their jobs. I don’t think we can go fast enough to stop that. The President asked for action, swift and bold. That is exactly what we are doing.
However, according to the U.S. Census Bureau today, the total population of the United States (adults and children) is only 305,750,357.
Fear-mongering? Ignorance? Slip of the tongue? Being dumb as soap? Maybe when she speaks of the proposed $825 billion (oops, now $900 billion) “economic stimulus package,” she really means $900 trillion or is it $900 Brazilian?

Perhaps she’s factoring in all those people who have entered our country illegally in an effort to escape the economic nightmare of hyper-inflation caused by political corruption in their home countries.

I think she’s doing it on purpose. Seriously, she says it with Chris Wallace during an interview, but he corrects her. She laughs and says oh yes, 500,000 per month. Then she says it again at the press conference, but no one corrects her. Even when her numbers are obviously silly, she puts off the aura of fear/panic, maybe even more because of her flub. Fear is infectious, fear wins out. She’s just helping to spread the disease. And Obama backs her up, at least in principle, because his statements are just as ominous should we not heed his call to arms and demand the stimulus package.

Ms. Pelosi is one piece of work! (but not what God intended). She lied to CNN when she said that there would be no special earmarks in the stimulus bill, however, her President also said there were “57″ States.
It is becoming evident that when one goes to Washington, one need not know anything historically about the country and that lying to the American public is a virtue.

If the 500,000,000 new unemployed this month includes Pelosi, it’s all worth it.
